Workshop 2.
Production: Camera, Light & Sound

Dates: April 7, 9, 14, 16 – 2026

This hands-on workshop focuses on the essential tools of media production (camera, lighting, and sound) so participants can confidently capture high-quality footage in real-world situations. Through demonstrations and guided practice, they learn how to frame shots, light subjects, and record clean audio using their own gear, while also receiving personalized recommendations on what equipment to buy or upgrade based on their experience level and creative goals.

2 Week Course – Wednesday and Thursday from 6pm to 8:30pm

Why it matters:

Strong stories fall apart if the visuals and audio don’t support them. This workshop ensures participants can execute their ideas with confidence and control.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Apply foundational camera, lighting, and audio techniques to real-world production scenarios
  • Demonstrate effective framing, lighting, and sound recording using accessible equipment
  • Capture clean, usable footage efficiently for a variety of content needs

Equipment: Participants are highly encouraged to bring their own camera (DSLR, mirrorless, smartphone), microphones, and lights. The professor will have some demo gear for instructional purposes and group demonstrations.  No additional purchases required.
