This workshop is part of The Media Workshop Studio’s three-part series at CoCreate: a community creative playground in Stamford built for makers, learners, and innovators of all kinds.

The series is led by Dr. Oscar Guerra, an Emmy® award-winning director, PBS producer, and UConn professor who built this program to give people practical media skills outside the traditional classroom.

Come finish strong in this final session and leave with a fully edited video and the creative confidence to keep going.

 

Workshop 3.
Post-Production: Video Editing with Adobe Premiere (Basic)

 

Learn the fundamentals of video editing using Adobe Premiere to turn raw footage into clear, engaging stories. In this hands-on workshop, participants will cut scenes, refine pacing, work with sound, and understand how editing shapes meaning—without getting overwhelmed by technical details.

 

A laptop and an active Adobe Premiere subscription are required. The focus is on practical skills and creative confidence, giving participants the tools to edit their own videos from start to finish.

2 Week Course – Wednesday and Thursday from 6pm to 8:30pm

Why it matters:

Editing is where the story truly comes together. Understanding how to shape footage gives creators control over tone, rhythm, and impact.

 

Learning Outcomes:

  • Edit video projects using Adobe Premiere from raw footage to a finished sequence
  • Apply basic editing principles to shape pacing, tone, and narrative clarity
  • Demonstrate an understanding of how editing decisions influence storytelling

 

Equipment & Software Required: Laptop (Mac or PC capable of running Adobe Premiere) and Active Adobe Premiere subscription.
